In a Twitter post earlier this month, Bishop Strickland invited the Diocese of Tyler to pray the Rosary more frequently by joining him in a 54 Day Rosary Novena.

Bishop Strickland will be offering this 54 Day Rosary Novena for the Church, our nation and the world. The novena will begin on October 7th, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and conclude on November 30th, the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle.

What is a 54 Day Rosary Novena?

The word novena comes from the Latin word novum, which means nine. A novena refers to nine days of prayer for a particular petition. Oftentimes, novenas request particular help from the saints.

A 54 Day Rosary Novena is a series of six novenas said consecutively. Traditionally, the first three novenas, or the first 27 days, are offered for a particular petition. The final three novenas are offered in thanksgiving, whether or not the petition of the first three novenas was granted.
